He contributed to the campus publication as an editor and writer during Ian Vandaelle’s tenure there.
His work for the university newspaper improved his writing and editing abilities and provided him with invaluable practical experience.
Ian Vandaelle was in a romantic relationship with Stephanie Hughes, a fellow financial journalist, at the time of his death.
It appeared that Ian and Stephanie had been dating since 2021. They kept an iguana named Dali and a cat named Finnian together!
They affectionately called their animals “kids,” indicating that they played a big role in their family.
