Despite the nation being deep in COVID protocols, the actress eventually determined, after several Facetimes, that it was time to meet Rivera while she was visiting San Francisco in 2021.
Although overcoming the obstacle was challenging, it deepened their relationship because shortly after Rivera finished his last in-person classes, the couple moved in together in New York.
